The Shimano Vanford Spinning Reels are a new line-up of high-performance, lightweight spinning reels that replace the recently discontinued Stradic CI4+. The Vanford is built around the same CI4+ frame as its predecessor but now uses a MagnumLite (MGL) spool for lower rotational spool inertia, which in turn offers an incredibly quick response in critical situations like hook setting and tense fish-fights.
